Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Dough:

1. In a large bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until well combined.

3. Sift in the flour and salt, then mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 2 – Chill & Shape:

4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

5. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

6. Roll out the dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters, or pipe using a star-tipped piping bag.

Step 3 – Bake:

7. Arrange cookies on the baking sheet, leaving space between each.

8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges turn light golden.

9. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
