  • ½ cup (120ml) buttermilk
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Batter:

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a muffin tin with 12 cupcake liners.

2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.

Step 2 – Add Wet Ingredients:
